Business Development Program (MBDP) |
| Description: |
MBDP is a statewide non-profit program
of the five Vermont Community Action Agencies, and offers
low-and moderate-income entrepreneurs technical
assistance for starting, expanding, or improving their
businesses. Services include: one-on-one business counseling,
classroom business training; facilitated peer support groups;
workshops on special topics; and loan application
assistance. MBDP now has special programs to assist
Vermont's refugees to start businesses and to help low income
individuals start child care businesses. Call for
details. Some business funding assistance is available
directly from MBDP through Individual Development Accounts or
matched savings programs. Each MBDP office also has a
computer lab with high-speed internet connection and business
resource materials for client use. All services are free
of charge to low- and moderate-income Vermonters. Please

England Trade Adjustment Assistance Center (NETAAC) |
| Description: |
The Trade Adjustment Assistance
Program, funded by the United States Department of Commerce,
helps American manufacturers who are hurt by import competition
by providing them with consulting services at reduced costs. The
New England division, NETAAC, an assist New England
manufacturers who have experienced a decline in sales or
production and a decline in employment due to increasing imports
of directly competitive products. NETACC staff, or its
network of private consultants,
provides clients with top-notch business services and tailors
business strategies to each client's specific needs. NETAAC pays
up to 50% of the total cost of all services, and in some cases
as much as 75%. NETAAC has assisted over 1,000 New England
manufacturers in a broad variety of industries. This assistance
has been instrumental in reversing sales and employment declines
and in improving productivity. |

By joining the DigitalBridges2.0 community you gain access

available to help you as you get started. Initially, Venture
Coaches will help by answering questions and helping members
solve issues like finding funding, strategic channel partners
and needed skill sets via private email exchanges within
BRIDGES. Once you identify the coach offering the industry and
expertise combination you seek, simply click on his/her name and

have sent a private message so that he/she can respond in a

Middlebury Solutions Group
The Middlebury Solutions Group (MSG) introduces students to
building companies from raw ideas through consulting engagements
with Vermont startups. Its services help entrepreneurs navigate
and accelerate the difficult process of transforming their
concepts into operating enterprises.
January Conference Series
The annual series explores how technology drives change and
how that change affects how we live, learn, work and play. Each
conference is the product of collaboration between Middlebury
College students, their panelists and their mentors drawn from

Manufacturing Extension Center (VMEC) |
| Description: |
VMEC is a not-for-profit center that
assists small and medium size Vermont manufacturers (under 500
employees). VMEC's mission is to improve manufacturing in
Vermont. This is done through direct one-on-one assistance and
training to help manufacturers improve overall operations,
modernize processes, increase productivity, introduce new
technologies, reduce costs, and become more competitive.
VMEC provides services through its skilled, expert
Manufacturing Business Advisors and additional technical
resources as necessary. Initial, confidential needs
assessment is free of charge, with additional services on a
reasonable fee basis. VMEC also offers workshops on a wide
range of industrial process, engineering and management topics.
VMEC is developing a new program to bring more Vermont
businesses into the supply chain of the US Department of
Defense. This is part of a New England-wide, DOD-funded
initiative which will afford Vermont manufacturers opportunities
to match their capabilities with DOD procurement needs.

Global Trade Partnership (VGTP) |
| Description: |
The Vermont Global Trade Partnership (VGTP) is Vermont’s
center for international business assistance. Formed in 2004,
the Trade Partnership provides technical assistance and trade
counseling, import and export leads, educational programs,
coordinated trade missions and trade shows, and many other
useful services to help Vermont companies seeking to succeed in
international markets. The Partnership is comprised of Vermont’s
abundant public and private international trade resources,
coordinated through the leadership of Vermont’s Director of
International Trade in the Agency of Commerce & Community

Technical Assistance & Trade Counseling
The VGTP assists Vermont businesses in researching new markets,
reviewing trade regulations, tarrifs and logistics and can
assist in product sourcing. The Trade Partnership is committed
to providing quality information and practical advice in
selecting markets for your products and services.
Trade Missions
Each year, the State of Vermont organizes trade missions with
the purpose of helping Vermont companies develop international
business. The Trade Missions provide one-on-one meetings with
potential foreign trade partners and unique networking
opportunities. These activities are managed through the
coordinated efforts of the Vermont Global Trade Partnership.
Trade missions are particularly useful for first time exporters
or companies that have had difficulty expanding into a
particular country or market.
Programs & Seminars
The Vermont Global Trade Partnership’s programs are designed to
educate Vermont companies through the use of experts from
industry, government, and academia, on topics of importance to
businesses. The VGTP also brings State, Federal and
international industry regional resources to Vermont’s business
community through periodic business roundtable and market
briefing sessions.
