Small Business Tax Workshops
Small business workshops are designed to help the small business owner understand and fulfill their Federal Tax responsibilities. Workshops are sponsored and presented by IRS partners who are Federal Tax specialists. Workshop topics vary from a general overview of taxes to more specific topics such as recordkeeping and retirement plans. Although most are free, some workshops have fees associated with them. Any fees charged for a workshop are paid to the sponsoring organization, not the IRS.

U.S. Department of Labor
Description: The U.S. Department of Labor operates a toll-free Information Service that provides live operator assistance and a universal access point to all of DOL’s programs, services and personnel. The service offers help in more than 140 languages to callers with questions about job loss, business closures, pay and leave, workplace safety and health, pension and health benefits, and workplace injuries.

Live operator assistance is available Monday-Friday, 8 am to 8 pm Eastern time.

Remember, federal wage and hour laws differ from Vermont State law. You should also contact the U.S. Department of Labor regarding your rights and obligations under the Fair Labor Standards Act. DOL’s Wage and Hour Division has a local office which investigates concerns relating to rights and obligations under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
