Got any bright ideas? Thinking of starting a business?  Growing or relocating your company?  Whether you need hand holding or rocket launching, there are many exceptional and free resources in Burlington available to assist you every step of the way.  Here are a few:

The Community & Economic Development Office (CEDO, 802·865·7187), located in City Hall, provides free technical assistance and referrals, administers a revolving loan program, provides location and permitting assistance, and when needed can act as a liaison between city departments and your venture.

The Vermont Small Business Development Center (SBDC, 802·658·9228), located at 60 Main Street, is available for free one-on-one assistance with the process of researching, starting, operating, expanding and closing a small business.

The Micro Business Development Program (MBDP, 802·860·1417), located at 431 Pine Street, offers low and moderate-income entrepreneurs free, comprehensive, one-on-one counseling and classroom training for starting, expanding or improving their businesses. They also offer specialized refugee business assistance. Computer labs are available.

The Women's Small Business Program (WSBP, 802·846·7338), located at 346 Shelburne Road in Burlington, provides women with business skills and support to start, operate and expand micro-businesses. WSBP offers many workshops and introductory courses as well as a fifteen-week business skills training program.
