Description: The association seeks to help Laotian and Southeast Asian Vermonters maintain their culture, tradition and language.  It wishes to pass on a rich heritage to Southeast Asian children by sharing summer picnics, Laotian Years on April 15th and other holidays with all Vermonters.

Description: The mission of the Indian Cultural Club is to enhance cohesiveness in the community and enhance cultural awareness among children.  "Have fun together," is their motto.  Many holiday celebrations are held including a Diwali celebration in the Fall and two Summer picnics.

Japan-America Society of Vermont (JASV)

Description: The JASV is a non-political, non-profit, volunteer organization seeking to improve cross-cultural understanding and mutually beneficial interaction among Japanese and Vermont individuals and organizations.   JASV sponsors cultural activities, publishes a quarterly newsletter, provides referral, orientation and translation services.  Call for details of membership.

Tibetan Association of Vermont

Description: The Tibetan Association promotes the language, history and culture of the Tibetan people.  It organizes events and cultural holidays such as Tibetan National Day on March 10th and Tibetan New Years.   Starting in June of 1999, Dorjee Namgyal will teach a course in culture, language and history to children grades Kindergarten through 12 at CCV.   Call Kalsang for details.

Vermont-Russian Professional Women’s Exchange (VRPWE)

Description: VRPWE is a four part collaborative project among, Women’s Studies of the University of Vermont, Project Harmony, Petrozavodsk State University Business School for Women and The International Institute’s Women & Management program in St. Petersburg, Russia.   The purpose is to facilitate intercultural understanding through business and professional training to promote women’s economic independence and self sufficiency.
