Goal: Older adults and people with disabilities have the necessary
community supports to live independently - with advocacy, recreation and social
services appropriately available.
Five-Year Focus:
- Maintain existing senior centers and programming in senior centers and
other community centers throughout the City.
- Participate in the Long-Term Care Coalition planning effort.
- Maintain home-based and center-based services to senior citizens and
people with disabilities, particularly those most vulnerable due to poverty,
illness and social isolation.
- Advocate for an exploration of state support for senior centers.
- Expand attendant care and respite options for persons with disabilities
and elderly residents.
