Economic Development Goals, Strategies and Funded Activities

Priority 3: Targeted Districts - North Street and Other Neighborhood Activity Centers

Goal: Businesses that offer essential goods and services are located within the City, readily available to all residents.

Five-Year Focus:

  • Continue to implement the North Street Revitalization Project. 
  • Support small-scale commercial and mixed-use development in convenient neighborhood locations. 
  • Promote the use of Renewal Community tax incentives and the Vermont Downtown Program.

Annual Action Plan

The City expended Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds on the following projects and programs in program years 2003-05 to further the priority of North Street and other Neighborhood Activity Centers:
