Building Burlington's Community

A Guide to Building Community & Stories of Success

Dot and Doma Planting flowers Disc Jockey Lt. Charland and Helene

Inspiring actions by people working hard to make Burlington a great place to live, work and play!

How to use this guide, a note from the editor

Meeting other people in the community can help you feel safer and more comfortable. This guide is full of opportunities to make connections within your community. The stories are inspiring examples of people making Burlington a great place to live, work, and play.

Building Burlington’s Community is based on an earlier version printed by CEDO in 2001 titled Building Burlington’s Neighborhoods. You will find this new guide is expanded into three chapters featuring information about building community on your street, in the city, and how the Center for Community and Neighborhoods can support you in your efforts.

Each page features a story paired with a how-to guide. Whether it is planning a block party or resolving a conflict, I hope the stories inspire and the information is a resource to share among neighbors.
