Neighborhood Services

CCAN's Neighborhood Services Team works to promote actual and perceived public safety in Burlington's neighborhoods by improving the physical and social environment of low-income areas.  Services and resources include:
  • Grant Program
Grants for neighborhood associations to fund neighborhood improvement projects such as beautification, motion-sensor lights, traffic calming, clean-ups and block parties
  • Training and Forums
Workshops on community leadership and neighborhood forums on public safety activities
  • Neighborhood Clean-Ups and Green-Ups
Collaboration with neighborhood associations and City representatives to organize clean-up events including Green-Up Day, a statewide event held the first Saturday of May.
  • Neighborhood Improvement Night
Neighborhood Improvement Nights are town meeting style events that take place in each Ward each fall.  With the coordinated efforts of multiple City Departments, residents come together with City Staff and Officials to brainstorm how to improve the quality of life in Burlington's neighborhoods.
  • Neighborhood Night of Success
The Neighborhood Night of Success is an annual celebration of Burlington's people whose hard work and innovative ideas make Burlington a great place to live, work, and play.
  • Neighborhood Planning Assemblies
Each of Burlington’s seven Wards have NPAs that meet monthly to discuss issues, share information, and carry out activities designed to improve neighborhood life. Ita Meno, 865•7172 or click here to view agendas and meeting dates on the web.
