Ward 4 & 7 Joint Neighborhood Planning Assembly Meeting Minutes

April 20, 2010

Residents were invited to come early to preview updated plans for Village at Leddy Park, to discuss the Repeat Violator Ordinance with Tom Derenthal, and to talk with Sen. Peter Shumlin.

7:00 p.m. ASSEMBLY CALLED TO ORDER. Intros, Announcements, Ground Rules, Agenda

7:05 NPA Business – Minutes, Mar 16, 2005. Phil made a motion to accept the minutes. Elected to steering committee: Chadd Quirk [motion Lea Terhune, second John Foss], Youth Member Ward 4, elected by unanimous vote. Angela Chagnon [motion Greg Jenkins, second Larry Solt], elected by unanimous voice vote. Ward 7, Steering Committee. Endorsement: Tom Derenthal, Ward 1 presented a proposed Repeat Violator Ordinance. Chuck Seleen made a motion to endorse the concept, seconded by Phil LaVigne. Repeat Violator ordinance is unanimously endorsed in concept, details to be worked out by City Council.

7:10 Open Forum for Residents - Brief statements of neighborhood/city interest or concern.

7:40 Discussion with Elected and Appointed Officials (Mayor, Councilors, Legislators, Commissioners, Board Members, Steering Committee sub-committee, etc.) Arnie Gunderson introduced Senator Peter Shumlin. Mark Larson, Kurt Wright, and Tim Ashe spoke on various issues.

8:10 PROGRAM: Energy Efficiency Services and Incentives: Chris Burns, Burlington Electric and Brian Fisher, Vermont Gas – Home Performance service and incentives available to residents and businesses. North End Residents share their experiences with energy efficiency: Ralph Montefusco, Sarah Sherrill, Tim Vachereau, Ron McGarvey, plus others.
