Americorps*State Member
AmeriCorps*State is part of a network of national
service programs that engage Americans each year in service
to meet critical needs in education, public safety, health
and the environment. AmeriCorps*State places volunteers to
serve full and part-time in non-profits throughout the community.
Members receive a stipend of up to $11,400 for one year of
service, health
benefits, and up to a $4,725 Education Award at completion of service.

Neighborhood Planning Assembly
Participate in your Neighborhood Planning Assembly. Learn
more about what is happening in the city, the work of city
departments and non-profits working to improve the quality
of life in our city. NPAs are a great place to make an
announcement or participate in the open forum to give
feedback about your concerns and hopes for the city. Attend

Graffiti Removal
Volunteer to make our city a more beautiful place by
removing graffiti on signs and buildings. A team cleans
every Tuesday throughout the summer. To participate, contact

Restorative Justice Panel
Member
Restorative Justice panels bring together victims, offenders
and community members to discuss the impact of a crime and
find ways to make amends to all parties. We are seeking
community volunteers to join this roundtable discussion. At
the meeting, all parties will discuss the impact of the
crime and collectively create a meaningful, legally binding
contract to help “right the wrong.” Weekly panel meetings
are held: Tuesdays 9:30 - 11:30 am, 1:30 - 3:30 pm and
5:30-7:30 pm, Wednesdays 9:30 - 11:30 am and 5:30 - 7:30 pm,
Thursdays 9:30 -11:30 am. For more information, contact

CCAN holds several special events every year that bring the

Liaison / Advocate
Volunteers offer support by providing direct services to
community members impacted by crime. Volunteers listen to
the concerns of the victim, make connections to a variety of
resources/services provided by the community through the

Donate Goods
or Services for Victims of Crime
Parallel Justice for Victims of Crime is seeking donated
services or new items to give to victims of crime. This
could range from donating carpentry experience, bike repair

Filing
Support at the Burlington Police Department
Parallel Justice for Victims of Crime is seeking a file
clerk to help the Burlington
Police Department purge obsolete turn of the 20th
century fingerprint files in the ID Unit. Transcribing
original alphanumeric values and names onto new filing
cards. Re-filing current fingerprint records into alphabetic
order. Update current evidence files by placing into numeric

Front Desk
Support at the Burlington Police Department
Parallel Justice for Victims of Crime is seeking and the
Burlington Police Department
is also seeking Front Desk Support. Volunteers will support
PJ at the BPD by providing exemplar victim services in daily
operations through front desk coverage and reception.

Help Shovel Snow this Winter
Operation Snow Shovel is looking for volunteers to help
Burlington residents who are elderly or disabled and need
snow shoveled from their walkways this winter. We will match
