Community Action Priorities for Housing
Burlington Racism Study Circle Program

May 2003

A.  Create and make available more information on housing programs/services for minorities 2) Create a community review board to address housing complaints and discrimination in housing.3) Development of a strategic plan to address the lack of low income housing for parts of the city other than the Old North End. 4)Create better information on affordable housing and a better method for dissemination of information. BPD Tuesday 7-9 PM

B.  Realtors Forum to: 1)educate about fair housing and 2)change realtors' attitudes about neighborhoods so they don't screen people out of being shown certain neighborhoods. Many people in our group were only shown, or not shown certain neighborhoods when house hunting based on realtors' perceptions about those neighborhoods. Is there a format we could use from the Retail racial profiling project that applies here? Community Justice Center Tuesday 9-11
