Thank you to all who have submitted ideas for the future of Moran!!

Please! Let us tear down this very ugly (and possibly toxic) building. Then we would have a beautiful open space on the waterfront. Landscaped�perhaps an open performance arena�or perhaps just open space.

Tear it down! The Moran Plant is ugly. It is an eyesore; always was, and always will be!

A community recreation center with basketball, gymnastics, climbing wall, teen center, senior center, performance space for community plays concerts and shows. Keep it open at night to help bring vibrancy to the waterfront and keep kids off the street.

It�s such an interesting shape�could it be turned into loft-style housing, or is it environmentally disastrous? Living there might be really great if it�s gutted and given a minimalist interior. If it�s contaminated beyond reason, tear it down. It would be nice to have an indoor space for functions, parties, civil unions, etc., on the waterfront. Could the cleared space be a funky convention center instead?

Because this is public land and must remain public, I feel it should be torn down and a public parking area with covered picnic areas which would be leased from the town for private weddings, etc., would be nice. It should also be green and open to the public when not being used for private parties. There could be a small area for the sailing club, also, where they could rent from the city. Please make it open space. Not high-density traffic area.

A community center combining an incubator space for authentic craft workshops-pottery, glass blowing, carpentry, weaving, printmaking and other arts�to preserve local culture, with activities/athletic facility, which would include boys & girls club. The latter includes exterior pool/rink . Rooftop concessions--restaurants and interior/exterior terrace gardens (income for city). Coordinate with local colleges (Champlain, CCV, UVM) to maintain arts & crafts facilities�instructional possibilities for traditional and non-traditional students. David Lustgarten.

Tear the building down and leave the land open for all the public to enjoy. Picnic tables might be one addition to the site. Naturally grass should be planted there as well.

1. Knock the structure down immediately and have a park in the space while the decision is made what to put in its place. 2. Turn the structure into a public leisure center with a pool, gym, performance space, caf�, people would just pay an entrance fee not a membership. 3. Turn the structure into a children�s museum. 4. Knock it down and make a botanical garden. 5. Turn it into an indoor market (farmer�s market), all year round covered area with a fish market, flowers, fruit, etc., and cafes, they could enjoy the view even in the winter. 6. Some sort of space for people to enjoy the lake view in winter.

1. Price of cleanup and removal costs to tear down Moran Plant. 2. Sail boating (all seasons) should have a place on waterfront. 3. Open spaces would be a welcome change from the now overcrowding in all of Burlington. How great to have a pretty safe open area on the waterfront so . . . Tear Down Moran Plant!

Territory of Vermont and other New England states has lots of lakes and rivers. I think it is necessary to organize: scientific-industrial center for rational use of water resources. Thanks. With my respect, Vladimir Gouli.

Moran Plant should be a revenue producing enterprise with public access and accommodations.

Tear down the building! Replace with something that brings in taxes!

Demolish the old structure. Turn area into a park. Save the land for future needs of the city.

Remove the old building and turn into green space for the future.

#1 Priority: The Plant should be taken down. The area should be cleaned up and smoothed over so all can view the space involved. What comes next should be accessible to all the public, not housing, although some part could be commercial so

Gut it and develop as art space similar to Tate Modern in London. This would be once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Expensive but would be a fantastic tourist draw, source of pride and excellent opportunity for sculpture displays and education! Go for it!

1. Tear it down! 2. Make a park for everyone to use with a clamshell for concerts, a dock and moorings for boats. Thank you for asking.

Tear it down and use the land to further develop the waterfront park. No dogs allowed.

City Hall: First, tear down the Moran Plant. It represents so much filth and material destruction to the Lakeview Terrace Community. Second, extend the waterfront park with walkways.

Since it is currently being used as a �community sailing center�, you should dedicate the rest of the building to more community space�Maybe a daycare for low-income families. A free school for low-income families. A summer program for local kids. A GED center where people can study to take their GED. A boxing gym and martial arts center.
